St George’s Day this year is on Thursday 23rd April, and Birmingham is proud to be honouring England's patron saint with free entertainment and festivities on the following Saturday.

Celebrate England’s Patron Saint!
Come and enjoy some patriotic fun at these free celebrations in Birmingham city centre. Victoria Square will have a stage with live music from The Fab Beatles, Kerfuffle and many more, as well as a fun dragon slide and dragon-making workshops for children.

The stage entertainment will be compered by BBC WM presenters Joanne Malin and Phil Upton, and you can also hop on board the BBC Bus to find out everything you ever wanted to know about the BBC.

Knights and nosh
Chamberlain Square will see a variety of entertainment, including sword-fighting demonstrations from the Knights of Middle England and their horses, as well as traditional folk and Morris dancing.

Traditional English nosh will be on the menu, with a whole pig roast as well as ales and ciders from local breweries. Also, New Street will see an English Craft and Farmers Market offer tasty treats and traditional souvenirs to take away.
