NEVERLAST Promotions - Press Release DORSET MUSICIANS LINE UP TO PLAY a St GEORGE’S NIGHT CHARITY SHINDIG. Not So Serious Bit New Bournemouth promotion outfit, NEVERLAST’s Ski and Beans (well we’ve been around the local music scene longer than the we care to mention, just never got our act together) have scratched their heads, talked to their mates and decided to resurrect Pronghorn’s St George’s night shindig at the Central Hotel, Ashley Cross. He Who Dares Rodney, He Who Dares... We will be flying the flag, having a laugh and raising a bit of charity cash at the same time. St George’s night falls on a school night this year, but that’s no reason for not coming out and celebrating England’s patron saint - well any excuse for a few warm beers. We’ve managed to line up some of Bournemouth and Poole’s finest, most available, free bands to play this one-off event at the revitalised Central Hotel, Ashley. We’ve got: • Kentucky Fight Club bashing out their unique brand of Cow Punk, not learnt from numerous years of playing in bands like Pronghorn, Plastic Paddy and Hoedown at Hanks. • Meatdraw playing the choicest cuts of new wave bangers • The one man army that is Adam Boucher and his folk punk medleys. • Two Blokes and a Girl will be giving us the traditional edge to the night. Music to bash great lumps of wood together, whilst smiling politely at each other • Carter will be fresh from his Jonny Cash routines (Cash Converted), playing a bit of his classic cockney knees up set! • Kirky the DJ will be on the decks playing none of your old school disco faves, instead he’ll be selecting discs from his obscure library of punk, alternative and the old grey whistle test. • Percy will do all the hard sound work that no-one sees and make sure the room is feedback free! • We’re also going to have a prize draw as part of the admission, so there’ll be a chance to win some English Socks or something! Luvly jubbly. So we are aiming to get people to dust off their Engerland clobber, the stuff that people only use once every footie world cup, and get them come down to one of (if not the only) St George’s night gig in Bournemouth & Poole. The show at The Central Hotel kicks off at 8pm and runs until 12pm. Entry is less than one of Alastair Darling’s finest (a pint) at £2 in advance, £2.50 on the door, with all profits going to Oxfam Tickets are available from The Central Hotel, www.wegottickets.com or ski.manic@yahoo.co.uk.
