ST. George’s Day Parade
19th April 2008 LIVERPOOL

On Saturday 19th April 2008, commencing 11am from the Cats Whiskers, there will be a community fun parade on Hartsbourne Avenue to celebrate England’s patron Saint, ST. George, as part of Capital City of Culture. All are welcome to participate wearing either fancy dress or wearing anything to celebrate St. George and England and carrying England flags. Please feel free to decorate the outside of your homes with England flags and bunting.
The route of the parade will be from the Cats Whiskers, Hartsbourne Ave., Chislehurst Ave., Childwall Valley Rd., Craighurst Rd. and Hartsbourne Ave back to the Cats Whiskers. If you live on the planned route and own a car, it would be very much appreciated if all cars can be parked in drives or on side of pavement to allow room for the parade.
Free children’s entertainment and refreshments are provided in the Cats Whiskers after the parade for local children. There is a children’s fancy dress competition for best ST. George, Maid and Dragon.
There will be a charity event in the evening in the Cats Whiskers in aid of the local youth club on Lyndene Rd. with live music provided by The Deal and a raffle.
The Committee look forward to seeing as many families as possible on the parade and we thank you in advance and hope your family have an enjoyable day.
Yours faithfully
Pete Molloy
