Gloucester Cathedral Service and Annual Banquet

The Gloucestershire Branch of The Royal Society ofSt. George is organising its 31st Annual St. George's Day Service in Gloucester Cathedral on the evening of 23 April.  During the Service the Youth Awards named in honour of Captain Robert Nairac, G.C., born in Gloucestershire and murdered by the IRA, will be presented.  To be eligible for an award youngsters should be under the age of 18, living in Gloucestershire, and have demonstrated such qualities as Captain Nairac possessed - courage, integrity and selflessness.  During the day Branch's members will be out and about throughout the county offering the public red roses to wear for St. George in return for a donation which will be passed on to Gloucestershire charities.  Roses will also be available for members of the congregation at the Service.

On Saturday, 25 April, the Branch rounds off its celebrations of this year's St. George's Tide with its Annual Banquet to be held in Stroud;  a three course meal for £24 per person.
