IAN BOTHAM HITS THE CAMPAIGN TRAIL TO BEEF-UP ST GEORGE’S DAYIan ‘Beefy’ Botham campaigns for England to put patriotism to its palate and ‘Beef Up’ St. George’s Day, on behalf of www.stgeorgesday.com and the English Beef and Lamb Executive by delivering THE PETITION and traditional roast beef dinners and to political party HQ’s & No.10 Downing Street on Friday 22nd April.
Accompanied by St. George, Ian will be delivering meals and the Roast Beef manifesto, requesting that St. George’s Day becomes a national holiday to representatives from each party. Along with lobbying for further official recognition for the day, Ian will be urging the nation to support farmers and mark the day with a roast beef meal.

• Hounslow Hero. from The Daily Mail The London borough of Hounslow, which is honoured by the residence of news reading doyenne Anna Ford, has decided not to fly the flag of St George on the English patron saint’s day on the grounds that it’s ‘socially divisive’. They have previously flown the flags of Palestine and Wales. Only one councillor voted in favour of St George-Asian Gopal Dhillon.
