In March 2011, the Tourism minister, John Penrose, announced that the government is proposing to move The May Day bank holiday to St George’s Day on April 23rd so as to get the tourist season off to an earlier start. 

This is the perfect time to make our voices heard and push for St George’s Day to be awarded the recognition it deserves.
